Age Concern Auckland is a Charitable Organisation dedicated solely to the over 65s and is one of the most significant providers of services across Auckland.

Age Concern is a not-for-profit organisation staffed by a diverse group of individuals with various skills. The organisation comprises an administrative team of co-ordinators and managers, as well as social, ethnic, and intervention teams. These teams include social workers and counsellors with varying qualifications, enabling us to professionally and safely meet the needs of the community.

Age Concern Auckland has three physical addresses in Auckland. One in Avondale, one on the North Shore and one in Counties Manukau. See the contact page for details.

In certain situations Age Concern can help an older person if they are having difficulty filling out forms to apply for services to which they are entitled. Give us a call and let us know if you are struggling to complete an application, we may be able to arrange someone to help.

Age Concern connects, supports, empowers, celebrates, and respects the older members of our community. We offer a range of practical services, including Intervention Services, Ageing Well Services, Social Connection Services, and Ethnic Communities Services. Age Concern Auckland helps older people in the Auckland area free of charge. When individual people choose to support us by making a one-off, or a regular donation, it helps us greatly to continue our services for anyone who needs it. 

No, Age Concern does not provide assistance with Power of Attorney. However, we can refer you to the Public Trust Office or qualified lawyers for this service.

Yes. Let us know your circumstances and we can arrange someone to assist you in certain situations.

For the purposes of our work we consider senior 65+ however there is no official retirement age in New Zealand. The common age to retire is 65 when NZ Super and some other pension payments start. You can find more information on the New Zealand Government website.

Carer Support is a subsidy that helps you take some time out for yourself. It provides reimbursement for some of the costs of care and support for the recipient of care while you have a break.
