Below you'll find step-by-step guidance for clearing your browsing data and using private browsing modes.
Removing Your Browsing Data
Google Chrome:
- Open the Chrome menu (three dots in the top right corner)
- Choose "More tools" then "Clear browsing data"
- Select what you want to delete and choose your time range
- Click "Clear data"
- Close Chrome completely and reopen it
Firefox:
- Click the menu button (three lines) and select "Settings"
- Go to "Privacy & Security"
- Scroll to "Cookies and Site Data"
- Click "Clear Data"
- Select what to remove and click "Clear"
- Restart Firefox
Microsoft Edge:
- Click the three-dot menu in the top right
- Select "Settings" then "Privacy, search, and services"
- Under "Clear browsing data" click "Choose what to clear"
- Select your options and click "Clear now"
- Close and restart Edge
Private Browsing for Extra Security
For maximum privacy, use your browser's private mode, which doesn't save your browsing history or data.
Chrome: Click the menu and select "New incognito window" Firefox: Click the menu and choose "New private
window"
Edge: Click the menu and select "New InPrivate window"
Additional Safety Steps

- Remember that your internet service provider may still keep records of websites visited
