Vishal has driven collaborative innovations in Aotearoa for ethnic communities for over 20 years. A social entrepreneur at heart, he has held various public sector and not-for-profit governance roles.
Vishal has extensive experience in public health, community development and social services and is currently the CEO of The Asian Network Incorporated (TANI), a well-recognised national service provider improving health and well-being outcomes for Asians. As a public health professional, Vishal has made significant contributions to the health sector and is recognised as a leader who brings an ethnic voice and perspective to the policy table.
Vishal is the Chair of the Ethnic Health Collective Strategic Group and has been central to its establishment. He also serves as Chair of SAMER+ Collective and White Ribbon Ambassador. He is a Board member of the Commonwealth Study Conferences (CSC), New Zealand chapter and a member of the national consumer network led by the Health Quality & Safety Commission.
Vishal was also selected to be part of a New Zealand delegation of twelve Young Core Leaders of Civil Society Development Program members in 2012. He also represented New Zealand in the 3rd Commonwealth Emerging Pacific Leaders Dialogue 2014.
Kevin has been at the helm of Age Concern Auckland for the past 10 years, overseeing its transition from a small, locally-based, community organisation to a dynamic, professional agency supporting older people across Auckland. Prior to joining Age Concern, Kevin was Northern Region Manager, Plunket, and before emigrating to New Zealand in 2011, held a number of senior roles within the conservation and science-education sectors in the UK, culminating with being Director of the Gardd Fotaneg Genedlaethol Cymru or National Botanic Garden of Wales.
He has built on his original qualifications in Political History, Philosophy and Economics and Masters in Business Administration, with many
years of senior leadership in the not-for-profit sectors, working in New Zealand, the UK and West Africa. He has a passion for social
justice and an eye for effective social investment and a commitment to make New Zealand live up to the claim of being a great place to grow
old in and for Auckland being one of the world’s most liveable cities.
Jenny Janif is a community development and social impact practitioner and researcher with over 35 years of experience across the public and community sectors in Aotearoa New Zealand. Deeply committed to rights-based development and social justice, she has worked in partnership with refugee and migrant communities, faith-based organisations, and tangata whenua to promote social wellbeing, foster cohesion, and strengthen community impact.
She currently serves as a Senior Advisor with E Tū Whānau at the Ministry of Social Development. In 2020, she was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in recognition of her services to refugee and migrant communities, and she has served as a Justice of the Peace since 1998.
In addition to her professional contributions, Jenny is also a published writer of poetry and short stories.
Anitha Mogilicharla is the National Clinical Quality Manager and Infection Specialist at Oceania Healthcare, leading clinical quality and infection management across the organisation. After moving to New Zealand in 2008, she transitioned from an early career in agricultural science to nursing, working first as a carer and later as a registered nurse. She holds a Master’s in Agricultural Sciences from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, a Bachelor of Nursing, and a Master of Health Sciences completed in 2024. Anitha brings a strong focus on safety, quality improvement, and person-centred care.
Manpreet has been serving with the New Zealand Police for seven years. He currently works as an Ethnic Liaison Officer within Ethnic Services, based at Counties Manukau. Manpreet is dedicated to promoting safety, respect, and inclusion across all communities in Aotearoa New Zealand. In addition to English, he is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi, which helps him build stronger connections and better support New Zealand’s diverse communities.
