Big Gay Out 2026

Age Concern Auckland was proud to be part of Big Gay Out 2026, standing alongside Auckland’s rainbow communities in celebration, solidarity and support.

Growing older should feel safe, visible and connected for everyone. Big Gay Out is one of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s most vibrant community events, and being there matters. It gives us the chance to meet older rainbow people, their partners, whānau and friends, and to connect with organisations working to strengthen inclusion across our city.

Throughout the day, our team spoke with community members about social connection, elder abuse awareness, and the support available to older people across central, west, north and south Auckland. We were grateful for the conversations, the stories shared, and the warm welcome we received.

Events like this are an important reminder that inclusion does not stop at a certain age. Older rainbow people are a valued part of our communities, and we are committed to ensuring our services are safe, respectful and welcoming for all.

Below you will find photos from the day.
